I provide virtual nutrition counseling and nutrition groups in the following specialty areas:

Eating Disorders & Disordered Eating

Many of my clients struggle with disordered eating or are in recovery from eating disorders. Our work together will involve support, education and activities to help you move toward making choices based on your preferences and nourishment as opposed to restrictions. We’ll work together to debunk food rules, rediscover your hunger and fullness signals, understand how emotions impact your eating and learn to nourish your body with a variety of foods. Outside of sessions, I work closely with therapists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals that may be part of your team to foster a collaborative and holistic treatment approach.

Body Image

Our bodies will always be changing. We are constantly bombarded with messages about how our bodies aren’t good enough. Through our work together, we’ll explore your body image story and learn about the beliefs you hold about your body and how they impact you. We’ll discuss ways to attune to your body’s signals and respond to them with compassion, as opposed to criticism. My approach focuses on tuning out external guidelines of what our bodies should look like, and instead focuses on moving toward acceptance and body neutrality.

Judaism + Nutrition

As a Jewish dietitian, I’m aware of the challenges Jewish culture can present to our feelings about food and our bodies. Through our work together, we will get curious about how to honor traditions related to your faith that are important to you, while also considering your individual nutrition needs. I grew up in a Reform Jewish household, and enjoy supporting others in exploring their connection between food and their faith.

FAQs

  • I offer nutrition therapy and nutrition groups. All services are completely virtual. I use a HIPAA-compliant electronic medical record called SimplePractice that we will use for completing any paperwork and for our virtual session links.

  • During an intake session, we will get to know each other better. I value building long-term relationships with my clients, and feel that it’s important for me to know more about you to be able to support you in making changes. We’ll take a deep dive into your relationship with food, medical and mental health history, and talk about your goals for working together. The bulk of the work will happen in follow-up sessions, in which we’ll reflect on progress, celebrate wins, and work through challenges together to move you toward your goals.

  • I love creating a space for folks to learn and grow in their relationships with food together. Groups include a mix of nutrition education, food exposures, and discussion. Previous groups have included: Intuitive Eating for Adults and Nourishing your Soul: Observing Yom Kippur in Eating Disorder Recovery. Reach out to find out about any upcoming group offerings.

  • I am based in Virginia, and am currently licensed in Washington DC, Maryland, and Ohio. I am able to practice in a handful of additional states including, but not limited to New York, Pennsylvania, and California. Please contact me see if I can practice in your state.

  • I do not accept insurance at this time. I am considered an out-of-network provider. Some clients are able to receive partial or full reimbursement for nutrition counseling sessions, depending on their insurance plan and any out-of-network coverage they may have. I create a super bill after each session that clients are welcome to submit to their insurance company.
